The 3 Day Wanderer is for visitors who have the time to explore our region at a more leisurely pace. Package includes 2 nights accommodation in Cooktown at the Sovereign Resort along with meals as outlined in itinerary. 

Physical Fitness & Mobility required 

A general level of  mobility & fitness is required to join this tour. The 4WD Coach used for our Cooktown Tour has several steps on entry and passengers will need to board and disembark from the vehicle several times through out the day. Walks included are all considered easy and are less than 1klm in length. The terrain through out this tour features uneven surfaces and step hills and is not suitable for mobility impaired guests.

Aboriginal Art Class at Janbal Art Gallery

Aboriginal Art & Culture Private Tour

One of our Daintree Dreaming range of tours, immerse yourself in the ancient culture of the Kuku Yalanji Aboriginal people. 

Participate in a 1.5 hour art class at Janbal Art Gallery and create your own souvenir then enjoy a tasty lunch at Mossman’s Mayi Cafe before a guided walk through the lush rainforests of Mossman Gorge. 

Cape Tribulation, Daintree & Mossman Gorge

Our experienced driver-guide will collect you from your accommodation in a luxury vehicle for your private tour today. Enjoy unique commentary from your experienced local guide as you make your way to the first stop for a 1-hour Daintree River Cruise. Reach an understanding of the intricate Daintree eco-system and balance that exists between the unique flora and fauna that live here. Keep an eye out for wildlife including the elusive Saltwater Crocodile.

Continue north through the rainforest to Alexandra Lookout for picturesque views across the canopy to the Coral Sea. Enjoy a delicious BBQ lunch at the Daintree Heritage Lodge before visiting renowned Cape Tribulation Beach. Your driver-guide will explain the history and relevance of this unique location.

Stop for a delicious fruit ice cream at the Daintree Ice Cream Company – made from exotic fruits grown on their on-site orchard.

We make our way back across the river to Mossman Gorge for afternoon tea and an interpretive walk through the ancient rainforest with your driver-guide. Learn about the unique flora and fauna, and the cultural significance of this ancient rainforest before returning to your accommodation.

Daintree Dreaming Private Tours

Kuranda, Skyrail And Gold Class Scenic Rail

Enjoy a relaxed start to your morning before your driver-guide arrives at your accommodation in a luxury vehicle to begin your private tour. Enjoy commentary and local knowledge from your driver-guide as they take you to Skyrail Smithfield Terminal to board the Skyrail Rainforest Cableway at 11am. Enjoy spectacular views as you travel over and through the ancient rainforest. Your driver-guide will greet you as you disembark Skyrail in Kuranda, ready to explore the unique village.

Our experienced private driver-guides have an extensive knowledge of Kuranda and the area, and will tailor your time in Kuranda to suit your interests; ensuring you a most memorable day. 2 Day Cooktown Explorer

Tour Season May to November 2021

Small group maximum 16 passengers 

This epic 4WD journey through UNESCO World Heritage-listed Daintree Rainforest crosses unique terrain along the 4WD only Bloomfield Track in our purpose-built vehicle. The 2 Day Cooktown Explorer includes an overnight stay in Cooktown with the following day is spent exploring more of this historic town. Enjoy a high level of service and comprehensive commentary en route as our driver guide shares stories of our region’s fascinating natural and cultural heritage. Return journey along the Mulligan Highway, the Outback.

Tour Description

Immerse yourself in the ancient Aboriginal culture of the Kuku Yalanji people on this exclusive tour. Join an art class at Janbal Gallery with Aboriginal artist Brian ‘Binna’ Swindley where you will learn how their stories are shared through art, as well as paint your own canvas to take home.

Learn about the ancient Aboriginal ‘highways’ that run through the region on the way to Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre; the gateway into the ancient Daintree rainforest of Mossman Gorge. Experience a traditional welcome to country smoking ceremony as you arrive before a delicious lunch.
Book either the standard tour that includes an interpretive walk through the ancient rainforest with our Adventure North Aboriginal guide, or upgrade to the Ngadiku Dreamtime Walk with an Aboriginal guide from Mossman Gorge Centre.

Tour Description

This is one of the most intimate and authentic Aboriginal Tour experiences in Tropical North Queensland.  A cultural journey taking you from coast to rainforest experiencing natural beauty and ancient culture.

The Kuku Yalanji people of Tropical North Queensland will welcome you to their lands on this engaging cultural tour. Learn traditional hunting and gathering skills that are still used today to search for bush tucker for their family at the traditional grounds of Kuyu Kuyu (Cooya Beach).

A short drive is the lush rainforest of Mossman Gorge Cultural Centre. Here you will experience the splendour of the World Heritage listed Daintree Rainforest. Experience a traditional welcome to country smoking ceremony.
Book either the standard tour that includes an interpretive walk through the ancient rainforest and along the banks of the pristine waters of the Mossman Gorge with our Adventure North Aboriginal guide, or upgrade to the Ngadiku Dreamtime Walk with an Aboriginal guide from Mossman Gorge Centre.

Physical Fitness & Mobility Required 

This tour is considered Soft Adventure, the Traditional Aboriginal Fishing experience calls for a medium to high level of fitness as guests will be walking across Cooya Beach, through mudflats and wading through coastal waters up to knee height.  Guests of low level fitness would be best suited to choose the Aboriginal Art & Culture option.
